Membership
The MRHA works for quality rural health care for Maryland’s rural communities and their residents, and depends on the support of individuals and organizations. A stronger MRHA with a larger and active membership is the best way to ensure quality health care for rural Maryland.
Benefits of an MRHA member
Membership in MRHA includes individuals, organizations, honorary, student, and ex-officio members. Membership is renewable annually. The following benefits come from joining and supporting MRHA
- Website devoted to sharing information on rural issues, solutions to challenges, and opportunities for rural Maryland.
- Participation in MRHA committees and opportunity to share knowledge and experience with peers.
- Networking opportunities with other rural health professionals throughout the state.
- Information on health issues impacting rural Maryland.
- Discounts on registration fees for MRHA annual conference and associate membership in the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).
- Legislative alerts on issues of state and federal concerns, and instructions for call to action on legislation impacting rural areas.
- Support of growing the rural health workforce through events like HealthSpell that support scholarships to rural students and advocacy for policies and programs that will solve the dire shortage of healthcare workers in our rural areas.

Types of Membership
The following types of membership are in effect for FY 2013 (July 1, 2012- June 30, 2013). For those choosing to renew or join for 2013 your membership will be effective date of payment recieved (even if before start of FY, July 1, 2012) through the end of the year (June 30, 2013). As an organizational member please consider paying for all employees to benefit from MRHA. MRHA has opended this membership type so that the number and diversity of membership grows. With increased numbers we will represent the number of people MRHA is truly advocating for when working towards improving the health of rural Maryland. If you choose (not required) you can also send directory of employees so that every employee in your organization can keep updated on events, issues, and priorities impacting the health of rural Maryland.
Individuals
Individual membership is structured for the individual who is passionate, curious, and active in the many facets of Maryland rural health care. Individuals receive all the MRHA membership benefits and special member pricing for the MRHA conference.Organizations
Organizational membership is designed to support hospitals, rural and community health centers, health systems, and organizations that need to stay current with rural health matters. Dues are based on a sliding scale to best suit the size of an organization.The below link will allow you to become a member electronically, it requires a main point of contact and email address. You can also designate the two members of an organizational membership and pay for membership by paypal or check. If you choose to pay by check please still join electronically and send check by mail to address below.
